I spent a few weeks over the summer at Liden & Denz St. Petersburg, and from my arrival in Russia through to my departure, they took care of everything I asked them to. They picked me up from the airport, sorted out my accommodation (with a sauna!), two things that I was worried about arranging myself from England. The lessons themselves were very informative and actually far more interesting than I thought they would be. Having previously done a three week language course in Moscow, I felt that I knew what to expect when it came to studying Russian. I wasn't expecting such an engaging teacher, however, and you could see that a lot of effort was made to make the classes relevant for people from all over the world. The whole Liden & Denz team made every effort to make my time in St. Petersburg as relaxing as possible but at the same time helped me to make the most of my experience. They would print important documents for me, recommend places to eat, and they knew exactly where a good cheap hairdresser was. I chose Liden & Denz originally for the great reputation that it had, but I actually left having an even higher opinion of the Language Centre. There is a great community spirit, I feel like I got the most out of my classes there, and the whole experience was truly memorable, and left me with not only a great opinion of Liden & Denz, but of Russia itself.

It's an easily accessible language institution just right off Nevsky. I had a good teacher for my basic Russian language class who was very thorough and patient about teaching. What was annoying about the institution is that prices seem to increasing a lot just in the last two years. My last class with the center was in 2015 I believe, and I remember being asked to pay in euros which was an inconvenience for me. Otherwise, the center seems to be full of activities. Lots of cultural activities but I've never participated in any.

Priwjet everybody, my name is Daniela Danzinger, I am from Austria and I was "Social Media Content Assistant" at Liden & Denz for the last 3 months. Furthermore, I had the opportunity to join the language course in the morning! I'm so happy that I had the chance for this unforgettable experience here in Russia! I met so many great people from all over the world and I could improve my russian skills so much! :-)

I had the possibility to attend Russian courses in a class with 4-6 students and one-on-one business Russian courses this year in St. Petersburg over 2 months. It was a great experience! It could discover the Russian culture and made huge steps depending my Russian speaking skills. The school is (like I expected from a Swiss organization) very efficient organized and the teachers are highly educated. During my stay, I lived first with a host family, what was a very deep insight in common Russian Life. Then, after half of the time, I changed to a shared flat belonging to Liden & Denz. The appartment was very modern, clean and fully furnished. Liden & Denz is an international school, where you can meet a lot of students and interesting people from around the world. I had classmates from Europe, USA, Latin America and Asian countries, student ages were between 18 and 65. That was also a great thing to me, to get to know new characters and different sights and mentalities. Next to the educational activities, the school also offers a lot of cultural excursions in Petersburg. Of course, also goog organized. Bottom Line: I spent a fantastic time in St. Petersburg at the Liden & Denz school. I can highly recommend it to everyone, who wants to learn Russian in Russia!

Last month I came to study Russian at the Liden and Denz language school in St. Petersburg and have been thoroughly impressed by the high standard of teaching and organization at the school. Each day I had four academic hours of lessons, split between grammar and conversation. What I particularly appreciated was that the lessons are designed to help you expand your lexicon whilst tackling new grammatical concepts. I also really enjoyed participating in the cultural activities organized by the school, especially the trip to Novgorod.

After my stay at Liden & Denz I can really say that this is the way you should learn languages. Of course, it will not be easy and you will struggle with the Russian language. However, I felt that the school and the teachers are very well aware of this fact and showed a great understanding of how languages are taught and what obstacles you may encounter. The lessons are a good mix of more theoretical lessons concerning grammar and more practical lessons where you will practice your speaking skills. If you are a complete beginner, you will probably use the schools own book. This book is a real gem when it comes to learning Russian as a beginner, and I'm amazed by the progress I saw people make. If you are ready to put in the effort, and have an interest in or love for the Russian language I can really recommend Liden & Denz!

I had a client who wanted to prepare for TELC Russian exam and take it in Liden & Denz Riga. Not to mention that the organization was perfect, but my client evaluated everything (the preparation course, host family, excursions, transfer, etc.) being "SUPER". I would highly recommend Liden & Denz, because they will do the best for you!

After five weeks attending a Russian course at Liden & Denz I would like to recommend it to any expat or language interested here. The teachers were really passionate and happy to answer all your questions. Für fünf Woche habe ich in St. Petersburg bei Liden & Denz einen Russischkurs besucht. Ich kann es jedem empfehlen der Russisch lernen möchte oder bereits Russischunterricht besucht hat. Der Lernprozess ist bei Liden & Denz enorm gross verglichen mit Schulen in der Schweiz :).

I took a Russian language course through Liden & Denz lasting one month, and I wish I could stay longer! Previously I studied Russian at my university and it is difficult to even compare the two experiences. The Russian instructors are very kind, motivating, intelligent, professional, and they push you to learn. The class is intensive, I signed up for 20 hours a week, but it is never overwhelming. I never imagined myself improving as much as I did, in reading, listening, and speaking. I really appreciated that part of the class time was devoted to conversation, helping us to get used to formulating thoughts in Russian. The school is in a nice location and is easy to get to, especially by metro. The staff is very helpful and want you to learn the language while enjoying yourself. They provide many cultural activities as well to help you have a well rounded experience in Russia. I would definitely recommend this school to others, you get your money's worth and they truly care about your education. I hope to come back again to improve my Russian even more.

I've been to Liden & Denz in Riga and this year I've been at Liden & Deniz in Saint Petersburg, so I've been studying Russian there for two times and the experiences have been very nice! The teacher Liubov was very friendly and a good teacher. The school it is very well located in the center of the city, just few minutes away from the Nevski Prospekt and also, it is interesting to live with a Russian family, you can practice Russian as well after class. Overall, my experience was really good!

What a great experience at Liden & Denz in St-Petersburg ! The welcoming was great, the courses were adapted to my level so I got the opportunity to learn a lot during these 2 weeks ! I even had the chance to get a little party as a good-bye. All in all i'd just say i would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn russian. Замечательная школа и прекрасный преподаватель итальянского языка Мануэле. малочисленые группы собирают только мотивированных учеников, большой выбор разных программ. Пришла за преподавателем из другой школы и ни капли не жалею. Учимся по общему согласованию дистанционно, но есть и очные варианты. Удобно общаться с секретарём воцап. Процветания организации!! Пожелания школе обновлять оперативно информацию на сайте, относительно новых курсов,ну и может, ввести маленькие скидки для "старичков".

Была в этом учебном заведении около года назад, слушала лекции об итальянском языке, культуре, традициях. Меня, как человека, работающего в сфере среднего профессионального образования, поразили и восхитили размер школы, ее оснащение и внешний вид. Нас встречали улыбчивые и вежливые сотрудники, а лекторы (преподаватели итальянского) были харизматичный и подкованы. Я бы хотела найти время, чтобы учить здесь английский язык.

Eight months ago I ordered the books from this "institute". I payed 81 euro. I received nothing from this company. It is a scam? I think those who deal with the company, should stop do it.

I’ve spent two months (October-December) in Saint Petersburg learning Russian at Liden&Denz. Even though a pandemic was going on, my stay in Russia was wonderful. The school had safety measures in place and I never felt that my health was at risk. I was able to have the work-study experience, which means that I spent 4h a day in class and in the afternoon, I created videos for the schools YouTube channel. Liden&Denz moved into a new campus not long ago and it’s truly perfect. Located almost in the heart of Saint Petersburg, there are many restaurants and activities nearby. The school is situated in an impressive old building. Classrooms are bright and welcoming, there’s a bar which offers snacks and drinks. There are study areas and chill areas. Despite not having many students due to Covid, I still had a great time with the few students there were. Our teacher made sure that we all understood what we were learning, but also made sure that no one was sleeping in class. Liden&Denz has their own teaching materials and books, which really help with learning this complex language. The work experience was great as well! I worked as content creator, producing YouTube videos most of the time. It was always fun and a good experience working with Sasha and the other teachers at school. Thank you for the great memories and experience! I’m looking forward to visiting Saint Petersburg again!

Thank you very much for these three wonderful weeks of language course! I never would have thought that I can learn so much Russian in only three weeks. Also, I really enjoyed the online format of the course (if it would have taken place in St. Petersburg, I think I probably would not have been able to take part in the course, so I am very happy about the remote version of the language course) and I am deeply impressed by and grateful to our wonderful teacher Tatiana!

I spent three months studying at Lidenz at the end of 2019. Before coming I was just wishing to spend some time in Russia and to try to get some language skills at the same time. Well, Lidenz blew all my expectations out of the water. The location of the school is excellent. It's one block down from Nevsky and is close to everything. The school is super modern and everything is in top condition. There were also a bunch of different activities organized by the school for students who wanted to participate, for example Borsch cooking, excursions and of course the Christmas party! And last but not least the quality of the teachers and education in general was incredible. I could really tell that the teachers were actually motivated and interested in teaching us the language. There was a big focus on actually communicating in Russian and practically using it from day one, which meant that progress was very quick and also motivating. The education was also supplemented by the schools own course books and various types of media which it very dynamic and not stale at all. When I first arrived in Russia I spoke about 3 words of Russian. After my first month I remember talking to a man from Uzbekistan in the metro, and actually holding a conversation (a limited one of course) with him in Russian. And at the end of my three months I was holding real proper conversations with Russians in Russian. It was incredible. I'd go back to Lidenz in a heartbeat and I recommend everybody who's interested in learning Russian in Russia to chose Liden & Denz.

This is one of the best language schools I have ever studied at! Everything is perfectly organized (the staff members helped me with everything), the teachers are qualified and the school offers the perfectly bright, warm and modern environment for studying -- and all of this in the CITY CENTER!! My experience at this school was truly something I will never forget!

Leider diesmal nicht so gute Erfahrungen gemacht. Wir waren zwar zur Hauptsaison da, aber trotzdem sollten die Kurse nicht so überfüllt sein! In Kursen mit 14-17 Leuten, ist eine individuelle Förderung kaum möglich. Außerdem wurden mehrere Leute in falsche Kurse eingeteilt und durften dann nicht wechseln. Die Art der Sprachschule mit dieser misslichen Situation umzugehen war leider auch nicht sehr professionell. Schade! (Ich war bereits das zweite mal da und hatte das letzte Mal durchweg positive Erfahrungen gemacht. Schade, dass die Sprachschule dieses gute Niveau nicht halten konnte!)

Course of very good level.

I spent 6 weeks learning at the institute and I'm very satisfied with the quality of the Russian education. I recommend it to everyone who decides to study Russian and wants to learn immersed in Russian life and culture. The teachers often incorporate cultural, literary and historic elements into the lessons, so it's not only a great chance to learn the language, but also an opportunity to find out more about Russia itself.

School is very well organized, with good infrastructure. Even though it's a bit pricey, the extra is worth. My teacher was very focused and motivated. I would go again.

I love my experience at Linden&Denz. I spent the last two months there, and it was great! I started as a total beginner and was able to learn a lot. The school was terrific with supporting me and helping me progress with my Russian. Their own textbooks are excellent, and the teachers are fantastic I thoughtfully enjoyed my time in St. Petersburg and can really recommend the school to anyone who wants to learn Russian

Axée sur un fonctionnement d’excellence, cette école est un vrai bijou de pédagogie. Chaque élève y est soigneusement pris en charge. Les cours sont intenses et riches. Les enseignants sont particulièrement professionnels et, à une exception près, très motivants. Nonobstant nos demandes spécifiques, la directrice Nadezhda Lyubich a toujours su s’adapter et donner le meilleur - ce dont nous la remercions vivement. Parfois négligée dans certaines écoles, la réception est ici parfaite et offre chaque matin un sourire appréciable. À recommander sans hésitation aucune.

Le meilleur endroit à Saint-Pétersbourg pour apprendre le russe! Les professeurs sont exceptionnels! Le personnel administratif est top. Il est aussi possible d’y faire des stages en marketing ou dans d’autres sphères. J’y suis allée 4 fois en tout et pour tout, dont une fois 3 mois, et je suis à chaque fois repartie avec des souvenirs pleins la tête!!!

I had such a great time as a Russian student and intern at Liden & Denz in St. Petersburg in August and September 2017 that I returned for another six weeks in 2018. The classes are held within walking distance from some of the biggest attractions in St. Petersburg in the heart of the city, the teachers are professional and encouraging, and other students are always up for lunch, a walk around town or going to one of the city's many museums. If you want to learn Russian – Liden & Denz is the place to be!

I have been to Liden and Denz three times since May 2016. They always make an extra special effort to make sure the courses are tailored to your needs and the group classes are very reasonably priced while you make great progress. The notes I took at Liden and Denz during the lessons I frequently reread, the structures of the lessons are very motivating in this way. Whether you want to speak and understand Russian or obtain an academic qualification with shows your competence, Liden and Denz is for you. If you ever have a problem , Margarita , Nadya and Elena and the other staff at the reception are always around and willing to check up on how everything is going. Recently, I was preparing for the TRKI 2 exam and Liden and Denz made sure everything was set up very efficiently. The better your Russian becomes the more motivated you are to study : this is a particularly powerful feeling which I experience whenever I am going to the school in St Petersburg. My teachers this time around , Olga and Elizaveta , were tremendously organised and made sure I was thoroughly prepared. If you are looking to learn Russian with serious intensity and in a relaxed environment where you meet interesting people, then Liden and Denz is the school for you. Wenn man eine authentische Sprachschule sucht ist man bei Liden & Denz genau am richtigen Ort. Die Lernathmosphäre ist ausgezeichnet, egal ob man bei Null anfängt oder schon Vorkenntnisse hat. Mit professionellen Lehrerinnen und Lehrern fällt das Lernen umso leichter, denn sie ermutigen uns zu sprechen und alles zu geben, auch wenn man Fehler macht. Ich habe in gerademal zwei Wochen mein Russisch aufbessern können durch den Unterricht bei Liden & Denz. Von kleinen Grammatikverbesserungen bis zur Vergrösserung des Wortschatzes in Themenbereichen wie Ökologie und Business habe ich viel mitnehmen können und ich werde diese Schule definitiv wieder besuchen - hoffentlich etwas länger das nächste Mal. Ich kann Liden & Denz allen, die lernfreudig sind und Freude im Sprachenlernen finden wärmstens empfehlen!

Liden & Denz is a great language school. I had a fantastic time here and made some great friends. The staff are all lovely people and are very willing to help students. The school is great and I felt like a part of the school community. Everyday was a true pleasure and I always felt comfortable as a student. I was pushed to improve my Russian as much as possible and I feel like I did. My confidence grew and I realized - thanks to the teaching staff - that communicating your ideas and having the confidence to do so is important when it comes to speaking the Russian language. I studied 3 months (April till June 2017) at Liden and Denz in St. Petersburg and left the school with very mixed feelings. On one hand, the majority of my teachers (Garold and Lilia) were very competent, structured and friendly and I made a lot of progress in their lessons. The other two teachers, which I fortunately didn’t have for more than one week each, were either not respectful or just absolutely unstructured and unproductive. In my last week for instance, I was taught in an “A2+ class”, which turned out to be on the level of A1 and I learned absolutely nothing, because the lessons were unstructured and the students levels very different. The thing that disappointed me the most in this school, however, was their director of studies and how they generally handle problems of students (with exception of the friendly staff at the reception). A friend and I were several weeks in a class together when suddenly on a Monday, our teacher taught another class and it turned out we were moved to a different class without any communication with us. On top of that, the new class was on a lower level than before. After the second day we spoke to the director of Studies Nadja to move to a different class. Nadja didn’t want to take her time to speak to us, shouted at us and was completely respectless. She then wanted us to make our complaint in Russian to “prove” that our level in Russian is high enough for A2. Her tactic was to frighten the students and make them feel stupid in order to not have to address the issue. This has not only happened to us but also to other students who were in the same situation. After my friend’s parents wrote a mail to Lidenz, we could eventually move to a new class the following week. Another experience was, when I was learning with some other students in the school and we then were asked to leave since they were having a party to celebrate the 25year anniversary of the school. Obviously, they only invited “important people” to the party such as agents who recommend the school. After asking them why no students were included in the celebration, they replied that there were going to be other parties and a picknick for the students. All of these promises then never happened. I never took part in an excursion because they seem to be overpriced and don’t include basic things like museum entrance fees or transport tickets, so it’s better to just go with friends. It’s also not a good idea to book the flat over the school since these are a rip-off. It’s better to find something through friends or possibly on airbnb. All in all, the school is not well organized and not customer-friendly. Being that all agencies in Switzerland recommended the school and the owner is Swiss, I was utterly disappointed. EDIT: I posted the same review on facebook, but Lidenz took it down because they can't deal with criticism. So here is my response to Lidenz' comment: "First of all, you didn’t show the possibility of making a new class right from the beginning of the discussion but tried everything to make us stay in the current class in a very disrespectful way. It wasn't you who came up with the idea of making a new class in the afternoon, but my friend Martin Melber. Without his idea, we would have had to stay in this class for another month. Concerning the 25-year celebration, you wrote that a student party and also a picknick were going to be in the end of June. Then nothing happened. Now you are saying it would be in the end of July. Your answer shows that you can’t deal with criticism and are not costumer oriented. Furthermore you make promises, which you don’t keep."

Liden & Denz have fantastic learning facilities, great teachers and the perfect atmosphere to learn Russian. Last year I stayed with them in Moscow and this year I studied in Irkutsk. Both experiences were amazing! I highly recommend them!

My second time studying, this time for 5 months! I had a phenomenal experience. If you are serious about learning Russian - this is the place for you!!
